The Russian Microfinance Center: 94% of the Charter’s capital The RMC aims to promote development of the microfinance industry in Russia. A non-profit foundation established in July 2002, the RMC was created by Development Alternatives Inc. (DAI) through the USAID-sponsored Russia Microfinance Sector Support Program. The RMC serves as a resource center for the industry, working to promote a regulatory environment that will foster the growth of microfinance in Russia, and offering professional training and consulting for microfinance institutions. The RMC has invested in Centurion Capital in order: (1) provide the RMC with a sustainable source of finance for its future development; (2) create a mechanism by which access to capital for the entrepreneurial class becomes the norm; and (3) channel domestic and foreign investments into the microfinance sector. www.rmcenter.ru |
